Welcome

Studies show the average person will experience over 40 losses which can trigger a change in our life and our well-being, including but not limited to divorce, the loss of a loved one, loss of a job, to death of a pet.

Because we are a society that is not trained to deal with death and loss, we do not acknowledge the grieve and mourning that must take place with these multiple life changes.  We tend to hold these transitions as “hard”, “negative”, “painful”. We hear phrases from well-intended loved ones like “Time will heal”, “You have to let go and move forward”. But HOW?

In our journey of grief, we find ourself asking “Why me?” “When is this pain going to stop?” Most of the time, we do our best to pick up the pieces and move on, hoping the pain will go away by itself. We isolate, thinking our friends are tired of hearing about our pain. We cover up our feelings by numbing our pain with alcohol, emotional eating, overworking and other short-term pain relievers.

Just as we learned how to ride a bike, later drive a car, we must also learn how to heal the broken hopes and dreams associated with loss.
